World Trade Organization second Global Seminar

From 28 to 30 September 2015, World Trade Organization (WTO) held its Second Global Seminar on WTO Accession. On the sideline of the event, a special event was organized to commemorate Saudi Arabia’s 10 years WTO Accession and a accession book by negotiators of acceding countries was also launched by the WTO Director-General Mr.Roberto Azevedo at the WTO Headquarter in Geneva.


The main themes of the program were to talk about the present and future capacity of the WTO in the multilateral trading system, accomplishments of WTO, accession and negotiation opportunities for the acceding governments with a good instrument for domestic reforms, transformation and modernization,  and the WTO accession negotiations fostering bilateral negotiation, regional and broader international cooperation.


Mr. Mozamil Shinwari, Deputy Minister for trade,  Mr. Azizullah Omar, Charge d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of Afghanistan,  Mr. Abdul Samad Stanekzai, Director of Nangarhar customs department accompanied by the members of the Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the United Nations Office in Geneva attended the event on behalf of the Afghan Government.
